Coffey County Hospital first opened in
June, 1954, as a church sponsored organization, on the same site
where it now stands. The hospital was purchased by the county
in 1967 and has been operated by that entity since that time. When
original operations began, the hospital had 22 beds, an emergency
room, two operating rooms, a laboratory, and a radiology
department.
From the
beginning, the hospital has experienced steady upward growth,
including several additions and renovations in recent years. More
recent changes include the opening of a rural clinic in
Gridley and the purchase of the Yates Center Medical Clinic. As
the logo implies, we are a family oriented health care facility
with all of our employees and physicians giving care that comes
from the heart.
