Sunset Manor Nursing Home Services

  • Activities
Celebrating the good times is a constant at Sunset Manor. We have monthly birthday parties, but we also take the residents out for coffee at the local coffee shop, go on shopping trips to area towns, are entertained by singing and performing groups, not to mention the many games and crafts available. The local 4-H clubs, Girl Scouts, local school system, and many church groups are also involved in activities at Sunset.

  • Food
The dietary staff at Sunset believe that food and good nutrition play an important role in the health and longevity of residents. In light of this, delicious, healthy meals are served to all residents three times daily. Families often dine with their loved ones and our dietary staff receives many compliments on their culinary arts. Three snacks daily along with encouragement of fluids are also included in the dietary plan.

  • Staffing
Sunset Manor is staffed according to hospital standards for long-term care and well above the state standards. Sunset operates at a level of 2.9, the state requirement is 2.0. Our philosophy is that with a greater staff to resident ratio we can provide better and more comprehensive care to our residents.

  • Clothing Care and Laundry
Emphasis is placed on the appearance of our residents. It is important to the residents, their family, and the staff that each resident is clean, comfortable and well dressed. The laundry staff launders personal clothing carefully, checking for repairs and making them as necessary. All clothing is marked with the resident's name and every effort is made to return them to their rooms in a timely manner after laundering and/or repairs.

  • Nursing and Medications
Sunset Manor is staffed with licensed personnel 24 hours a day. The level of staffing provided enables Sunset to care for shunts, colostomies, wounds, catheters, IV's and other medications, not to mention other medical conditions and medical needs.

  • Additional Services
Coffey Health System has available a Dietitian, Physical Therapist, Occupational Therapist and Social Worker. These experts are capable of providing services as needed and are always available for resident consultation.

  • Care Plans
Through the resident care plan, we will work with the physician, the resident, and the resident's family to provide the highest level of care and determine a regime which is best suit to each individual's needs.
